Chateau De La Chesnaie - Muscadet Sevre Et Maine Sur Lie
White Wine of the Month
I love this wine. It is a pale straw color, on the nose fresh, with a fruit driven bouquet. It reminds me of the smell of delicate white honeysuckle flowers. Being from the ocean state, I find it also reminds me of sea air. On the palate it has crisp acidity that provides the wine with lightness, strength, and liveliness all at the same time. I taste citrus of white peach, and nectarine, with just a hint of pineapple. This wine has a nice length on the finale with a tart fruity aftertaste of grapefruit and lemon.
This is a go to wine for me. I love it by the pool, and I love it by the fireplace. It’s a t a price point and quality that makes it feel like an expensive splurge even when it’s not.
Cocktail of the Month: Setting Summer Sun
*This simple cocktail is a Vine to Wine original!*
Cherry Liqueur is a wonderful way to finish our summer cocktails. It's a diverse addition to any bar with uses ranging from cocktails to drizzle and even a great boozy ice cream topper. We used cherry liqueur made by Finger Lakes Distilling (we visited them in 2019), but you can use whatever you have on hand. The combination of the liqueur, cranberry, and the splash of sake give this drink a dimension you wouldn't get from a classic Cape Cod.
1 - 1.5 oz cherry liqueur
.5 oz Sake (or more if you are a fan)
Top with cranberry juice
Pour cherry liquor and sake over ice in a glass of your choosing. Top with cranberry juice. Enjoy!
Iced Sparkling Honey-Lime Tea
The days are growing shorter, but there's still time to enjoy some warm weather. Try this number for sitting on the porch, outside gatherings, or even brunch.
Red tea bags (such as Red Zinger)
Fresh lime juice
Lime slices, for garnish
Brew red tea according to package instructions, stir in honey and let cool. In a large pitcher, stir together the tea and lime juice, then top with club soda. Serve over ice with limes slices, if desired.
